I use to visit at the Tipton Home when I was young. My Uncle Clayton and Aunt Irene Smith worked there for many years. Since my Aunt Irene just passed away it brought back some fond memories and I decided to visit your web sight.
We also use to host a young lady named Diane for several summers when I was growing up. I grew up in church at Cherokee Hills Church of Christ in Warr Acres. Any way, thanks for the tour and the memories.

I lived at Tipton 1972 to 1978 I went on to college at Oklahoma Christian College I live
in Texas now but I lived in Iowa for almost 10 years I have a beautiful daughter and a
wonderful husband and a zoo ha!ha! 3 dogs 4 cats a fish and a turtle, didn't do research
on the turtle it will live to be 200yrs or more WoW!  I will someday let my daughter see
were I lived when I grew up! I wish all the kids I grew up with well!!!! I know its been
different but I hope you have done what I have done and that is believe in myself and
God!!!!

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since I came on here. I just wanted everyone to know
what was going on in my life. I have two kids now Rachel who is 4 and just started school
and Connor who is 2 and will start next year. I'm married to a wonderful man named
Charles. We've been together for 6 years and married for almost 4. I've been looking for
anyone that remembers me and would like to get in touch with me. I'm on Myspace too so if
you want to look me up that way go ahead. I'm looking for Mom and Dad Owens too. So if
anyone knows how to get a hold of them let me know. I want to thank everyone that was
working and living in the home from 1998-2000. There were so many people there that helped
me. I know I couldn't have been the easiest person to help. But for those of you that
helped me I want to thank you. My life hasn't always been easy but there were a lot of
people there that helped.

Hi, everyone. 
You might have known me as Dale Boatman before I graduated Tipton High in '87.  I turn 40
this year and becoming reminiscent about my youth came upon this site. I enjoyed my time
at the Home and believe that having been raised there instilled within me values that have
grounded me as an adult.  I'm very thankful.
I spent 6 years in the Navy, having originally enlisted for only 2 on a sea college
program and they paid for my education at the College of William and Mary where I received
undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Science.  I then became an officer
working with amphibious assault teams and tactical operations with the Navy Seals for 4
years before receiving my graduate degrees at Georgetown.  Since then I've served my
country working out of Langley, Va in field ops and currently as a tactical analyst. I
live on the James River in Williamsburg with my beautiful wife of seven years who has just
given me a wonderful son this past November. I've travelled the world and have seen some
amazing things but sometimes I miss Tipton and when Dylan, my son, is a bit older I'm
going to fly in and show him where his father was raised.
When I do, I hope to see you.

remember
Mary Lee Brooks.  Her parents were Hubert and Jewel Brooks.

Hello everyone!  I was in the home from 1990 until I graduated in 1998.  After that I graduated
from Oklahoma Christian, and now I work in Social services.  I'm married to a great man named
Souljar Mills, and I know I could not have had this life without the home.  In particular, my Mom
& Dad, Mr. & Mrs. Ridenour.  They were always the best people, and they certainly got me
on the right track.  There were so many others who touched my life along the way, and I thank you
as well.

My mother, Billie Sue Haynes and her twin, Betty Lou were placed in the orphanage when
they were small and lived there around seven years. I think they may have had other
siblings there also.  This would have been in the 1930's.....do you have any record of
them?

I don't remember exactly what year i was in Tipton but i turned 7 there and i'm 16 now..
Mr. and Mrs. Sheets were my mom and dad there. I loved them so much and still do.. But my
resources tell me that they do not work there anymore. I just wanted to say that i love
what you are doing for the children and keep up the good work. And if you have any
information or pictures of me and my sister ashley clarkson and brother james clarkson can
you point me to them so i can remember a little bit more..

Hi everone,
I just wanted to say that the home is a truely awesome place.  I was placed at the home
when I was 16 and only stayed about a year but it changed my life and my beliefs for the
better.  I am now married and have children of my own and only now can truely appreciate
the faith and values that the church and my house parents instilled in me. For any of you
who remember me please email me I would love to hear from you.  I was planning on comming
to this years homecomming unfortuntally I over booked our schedule. My son has his first
Cub Scout campout the very same weekend. We plan on attending next year. I am hope
everyone is doing well.

So many years have passed by ... I have been married for 7 years and have a 13yr old daughter.
 I miss all that I grew up with in the Home in the Morgans Cottage in '87 & '88.  I
believe I too would not have graduated High School w/out the home and I thank them for giving

Its good to know that I am not the only one who remembers all the great times experianced
while living in the home. I see the names of several people I remeber. I want to say thank
you to all of the people who were part of my up-bringing while I lived in Tipton. The
values and morals I learned from you have shaped who I am today. I am married and have 4
children of my own from ages 6 to 16, and have served in the Military now for 18 years.
Hopefully we can make a trip up to Tipton this easter as it would be nice to visit home
again.

I lived at Tipton Home between the years 1962 and 1966. In '66 i joined the army and
went to Viet Nam in '67.
    Over the years I have often thought of the time thst I spent at Tipton Home and the
friends that I made there.
    It took three times, but i finaly found the right woman. We have been married 27
years. We have 1 son and 3 beautiful grandkids 2 boys and 1 girl. Now I'm passing on to
them the values gained at the home.
