         DENNIS SMITH

The Tipton Home Board of Directors selected Dennis Smith as the new Executive Director of The Tipton Home.  Mr. Smith comes to Tipton from the arena of public education.  Mr. Smith was the Superintendent for the Cleveland Public Schools in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, and Master of Education Degree, and a Principal Certification from East Central Oklahoma State University, Ada, Oklahoma. He also holds a Superintendent Certification from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma. Throughout his career, he also has been active in the work of the church. He has been a deacon for two congregations and educational director in three.  He and his wife Tanya have three children, Alisha, David, and Daniel. Alisha along with her husband Eric Howard, and David are currently graduate students and Daniel is in school at Harding University.  Mr. Smith took over his duties at The Tipton Home fulltime on January 1, 2009.

Founded in 1924, The Tipton Home has a long and a proud history of raising children in a loving, caring, and Christian environment.  We have been taking care of children for some 85 years, and in the future we plan to improve on the services that we can provide.

The purpose of The Tipton Home is to provide a loving, Christian atmosphere where children can grow physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.  Children who come to live at The Tipton Home are looking for friendship, warmth, love, and a place to call home.

A family setting is provided at The Tipton Home.  Our children reside in a comfortable, loving, family type atmosphere with Christian house parents.  These house parents strive to meet children's needs and provide a loving home.

Thank you for visiting The Tipton Home by way of the World Wide Web.  We invite you to come often.
